Our Emails and How We Measure Them

We send our newsletter and email communications through ActiveCampaign. We do not use tracking pixels to record whether you open our emails.

Links in our emails are tracked, which means we can see which links were clicked and when. We use this information only in our email platform, to understand which topics and journeys interest our readers and to improve our content. If you prefer that we do not record your clicks, write to info@seeitalytravel.com and we will stop doing so, while you keep receiving our emails.

Every email includes a link to unsubscribe from all marketing communications.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses a cookie banner (CookieYes) to collect and record your choices. Only cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work are set without your consent. Analytics and advertising tools are activated only if you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie icon shown at the bottom of every page.

With your consent, we use:

  • Google Tag Manager, to manage the tools below. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google tools respect the choices you make in the banner.
  • Google Analytics 4, to understand how visitors use our website.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our advertising and show our content to people who have visited our website.
  • Social media features from Facebook and LinkedIn, such as share and follow buttons.

Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Our local partners in Italy (hotels, guides, drivers, restaurants and activity providers), only to the extent needed to deliver the services you booked.
  • The travel advisor who booked your trip with us, if applicable.
  • Service providers that process data on our behalf under data processing agreements: ActiveCampaign, provided through its reseller Active Powered Marketing SL (email communications); Salesforce (customer management); Typeform and Formstack (online forms); WP Engine (website hosting); CookieYes (consent management); Google and Meta (analytics and advertising, only with your consent).
  • Public authorities, when required by law.

International Transfers

See Italy Travel operates between Italy and the United States, and some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. When personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Inquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 24 months from our last contact.
  • Booking and accounting records: 10 years, as required by Italian tax and accounting law.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
  • Cookie data: for the period indicated in the cookie banner.

Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or complete inaccurate data;
  • ask us to delete your data or restrict its use, under the conditions set by law;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest, including any processing for direct marketing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, write to info@seeitalytravel.com. We will reply within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it). If you live in another EU country, you can contact your local authority.

Storage and Security of Data

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access. Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to serve you.

Children

Our website and newsletter are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data online. Information about minors traveling with their families is provided by a parent or guardian and used only to organize the trip.
